Dixieline Lumber Company
This company found $21,660 per year by using incentives from their utility company to cover 100% of the costs of upgrading their entire store with energy-efficient LED lighting. Removing the old fluorescent lights not only saved them energy and completely eliminated maintenance costs of replacing bulbs and ballasts, it also dramatically improved the lighting in their store for retail customers. Additionally, worker safety was significantly increased in the lumberyard for workers driving forklifts before sunrise and after sunset. Reducing energy, reduced the greenhouse gas emissions required to produce that energy with the equivalent of removing 15.2 cars off the road per year.
